Happy Halloween!

We had a GREAT Halloween! This is the first year we took Rex out Trick or Treating. The first year he was 4 months old and had a runny nose, so we decided to just keep him in. Last year he was so excited about answering the door Travis and I just figured we'd let him do what he was enjoying. But this year we really talked the whole idea up of dressing up and going for a walk and getting candy! Boy was he excited. This was also a momentous occasion because Rex had never had candy before- he has been introduced to a whole new world now.

Whooo-Whoooo

Am I cute or what?

So before we went out walking, Rex felt that he should start out with some candy in his bucket. It was a good thing, because he didn't quite understand that he would be getting candy from the houses...he thought he was going to have to hand out candy to everyone. Every door we went to we would prompt him to say trick or treat, he would say it, then reach in his bucket and hand out candy to the people at the door. It was pretty funny. We had lots of trading going on.

Off we go!

This is fun!

Whew! One tired owl.

Weiner Rice Festival

What fun! Every second weekend in October we go to Arkansas to visit family and attend the Weiner Rice Festival. There is a parade, music, BBQ, and much more! The boys had a great time riding in all of Grandpa's vehicles and waving at all the people on the street.

We spent the rest of our weekend playing in Jonesboro at Grandpa and Nema's with all our cousins and Aunt's and Uncle's.

Our third Birthday Party was a combo birthday with Travis' sister Jenny. We celebrated with hotdogs, birthday cakes, and smores over the fire pit. We also enjoyed listening to Jenny, Travis, and Trey playing and singing for us up at the barn.

Travis' 30th Birthday!

It's the big 3-0! Yep, Travis is 30 and feeling fine :) We had 3 parties for the big event...

Our first celebration included a Chinese dinner at the Hammer's house and a yummy birthday cake with ice cream!

Our second celebration was our family and the strawberry cake Travis asks for every year...Rex really liked it because I put animals and trees on it.

This I just had to include...For Travis' work he is part of a committee that rewards employees for outstanding work. Every month they reward the employees with a gift of some kind and it is usually themed...this time it was Mexican. So they dressed Travis up in a poncho, sombrero, and this crazy mustache. Rex is not sure about the way Daddy looks and Tyson is just excited about the cake :)

Our third party was in Jonesboro...see next post :)

Tyson's First Big Boy Meal!

Well, we've come to the next stage...big boy food! I've been putting it off, but now that he is grabbing my fork, plate, cup, and silverware I figure he's ready to start eating :)

YUM!

Working on the House

Well, we've been doing some long overdue work on our house the past few weeks. Our dining room has always driven me crazy with the burgundy and gold striped wallpaper...yuck! I told Travis a couple of weeks ago before he left for work that I wanted to take that wallpaper down...I had the room halfway done by the time he got home that evening. Thus started the dining room project. I think it has turned out very nice. We still need to put a coat of white paint on, the doors need to be painted/finished, and I need to spray paint the chandelier and change the fixtures...but other than that...it's done!

California Trip

Well, I am finally getting around to write and post pics of our fun- filled trip to California. What a trip! I really couldn't have asked for it to go any smoother than it did. We flew in at 9pm on the 8th of August and stayed with my parents for that evening. We got up the next morning and my family and my parents piled...literally...into my dad's truck and headed up to Folsom to visit Aunt Michelle, Uncle Dave, and BABY CHARLIE!

Walking to our gate

First time in his own seat!

Tyson is not sure about this whole flying thing

We had never been to Dave and Michelle's so we were all excited to see where they live. We arrived late Saturday afternoon and talked, played, relaxed, and ordered take out from Olive Garden...it was great! I can't say enough about Charlie...he's precious. What a wonderful addition to the Sanderson and Dascenzi families. Dave and Michelle are very blessed. I can't wait to see and hold him again!

Michelle and Baby Charlie

We went to church on Sunday and it was fun to see some friends we hadn't seen in a while. After so much traveling we all took naps Sunday afternoon...however Dave and Travis went and played Basketball.

On Monday Dave, Travis, and my Dad went on a bike ride with David and Cameron Corrozza. They had a great time..but were completely worn out when they got home :) They topped off their expedition with a trip to a chinese buffet and a western wear store- I know, sounds odd. I was just glad they took Rex with them :) I wanted to hit up the great outlets I had heard so much about, so my Mom and I headed over that way and Michelle stayed home with Charlie and Tyson- she was very brave :) I had a great luck at the outlets, finding Tyson some more summer clothes- the little tank won't stop growing!

Dave, Travis, Cameron, and David before the adventure!

Monday night was bitter sweet- Uncle Dave cooked us hamburgers on the grill and we all played for the last few hours we were there. We got up early Tuesday morning to head back down to Orange County. Rex was looking forward to playing with Maggie.

The boys

Hard to believe they are 3 months apart...David and Goliath!

Wednesday was a down day for us- we needed it after all the traveling on the plane and in the car. The kids played inside and out and had a great time. It was a lot of fun to watch Maggie and Rex. They really interacted a lot on this trip- sometimes good...sometimes bad :) but all-in-all they were pretty cute to watch.

We all got up on Thursday and went to DISNEYLAND!!!

The whole gang minus my parents...what a crew!

Waiting for the tram...

...on the tram!

Wow! What a day! We had a great time really. The kids did great and we were all glad to go home :) I'm kidding...sort of :) Rex and Maggie rode on Peter Pan with Travis and Kody. Rex liked it...he didn't seem all that impressed though. Maggie screamed the entire ride. We all then went on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Rex again did not seem that impressed, but thought it was neat to turn the stearing wheel on the car. We got on the carousel next...Rex does not like them. We sat on a bench.

After that the kids all fell asleep, so Katelyn, Kody and Jenny, and Travis and I went on Space Mountain. Mom and Dad sat with the kids...all sleeping in strollers :) They have completely re-done that ride since I've been there last- which has been at least 4 years. It was a lot of fun! It seemed to go a lot faster than it did before and it's compeletely dark in there...very fun. Travis and I bought the pic- we couldn't resist. It was hilarious. After that we all went on Pirates of the Caribbean. Everyone enjoyed that ride and it felt good to be inside in the air conditioning.

We need a break..snacks and milk please!

We promised Rex he could ride on the train, so Travis, Rex, Me, and Tyson, and Kody and Maggie decided to take the train to the front gate and meet everyone there to go home. Sounds simple, right? Well, the train had some sort of delay so it took about 20 minutes for us to even leave the station. Rex was getting restless. Once we finally took off it was great to have the breeze and Rex really liked to go through the tunnels. All-in-all it was a great trip to Disney :)

...PATIENTLY...waiting for the train

...finally!

That evening Kody and Travis went to a business meeting and Jenny, me, and my parents got all the kids to sleep :) At around 10pm Jenny and I left the house and met Kody and Travis back at Disneyland where we spent the next 2 hours riding Splash Mountain over...and over...and over again! We had a blast and topped the evening off with some great ice cream.

Friday was another play day at my parents house and Great Grandpapa Newell came over for dinner :) He watched the kids play outside as they ran circles around all of us. Where do they get so much energy!

On Saturday Travis, me, and Tyson went to the Oakley plant in Foothill Ranch and replaced our sunglasses :) The factory is really modern and industrial...hard to describe, but not warm inside at all. Anyway, the rest of the fam went to Irvine Spectrum to go ride on the carousel, eat lunch, and ride on the polar express train! Travis, Tyson, and I met up with them later. We decided to get some shopping done on this trip, so we hit up Macy's. We always have good luck there. Travis, Tyson, and I continued shopping and the rest of the fam went home for naps and play. That evening we went to hang out with our friends Paul, Tracy, and Russell Ventura. We had a great time visiting with them and watching all the kids play together.

Quesadilla anyone?

Train time! All aboard!

I guess he likes the carousel with his Papa!

How does this thing work anyway?

On Sunday Rex started running a fever...of course the day before we leave...so he stayed home from church with Tyson and I. We pretty much just had another down day. I went to church that night with Tyson and it was great to see all of our friends again.

Rex started feeling better around 10pm that night so we let him play...he really liked to dress up in Maggie's rain boots!

Monday we packed up and cleaned up and played until we had to leave that afternoon. We had such a great trip and we can't wait til we can all be together again...hopefully really soon!!!
